Coached by father Geoff, who is an announcer at Tokyo 2020 and also served as the chief executive at Scottish Athletics.

Gold at 2019 U23 European Ch. In 2021 season, 2nd at Stockholm Bauhaus, 4th at Grand Prix Gateshead in Diamond League. Placed 6th at 2015 Youth WCh. In other events - gold in team long distance at 2017 Junior European Cross Country Ch. He is studying to become a doctor at the University of Granada. 'Our sporting careers will eventually end and we will have a whole life ahead of us.'

Bronze at 2019 African Games. Finished 8th at 2018 African Ch. In 2021 season, 5th at Herculis in Diamond League, 4th at FBK-Games on Continental Tour. In other events - 4th in mile at 2021 Bislett Games in Diamond League. He underwent surgery in 2019 for a knee injury, which has affected him since 2014.

Gold at 2021 NCh. In other events - DNS in 5000m at 2021 NCh. He began running at age nine. His goal is to reach the 1500m final at the Olympics in Tokyo. In July 2021 he was named as a finalist for the Bowerman Award, which is given to the top collegiate track and field athlete in the USA.

Gold at 2019 WCh, silver in 2017, 7th in 2015. Silver at 2018 and 2016 African Ch. In 2021 season, first at Herculis, Stockholm Bauhaus Galan and Doha in Diamond League. He was criticised in Kenya for losing to USA at the World Relay Ch on his debut: 'Looking back, of course I know that I went out too fast. People at home blamed me for not getting gold. It was quite difficult for me.'

Finished 14th at 2019 ISTAF World Challenge. In other events - bronze in 800m at 2020 Indoor Karlsruhe. Finished 31st in 800m at 2019 Indoor European Ch, 11th in 2017. In 2020, he was unable to run after recovering from a stress fracture, so he swam in a lake regularly to maintain his fitness levels.
