Second reserve. Finished 11th at 2019 WCh. In other events - gold in individual all-around at 2020 OG, silver in men's team event. His older brothers Takuya and Kengo have competed in artistic gymnastics at club and university level in Japan respectively. They influenced him to take up the sport.
Third reserve. Seventh at 2019 Junior WCh. Gold at 2018 YOG. In other events - fifth in individual all-around at 2020 OG, silver in men's team event. Won five gold medals at 2018 YOG, also in individual all-around, parallel bars, horizontal bar and rings. Gold in pommel horse, parallel bars and team event at 2019 Junior WCh.
