Aims to set a WR at Tokyo 2020.

His mother Tina starred in British and South African sports entertainment show Gladiators. Turned professional at age 14 so could not swim competitively in high school and university.

He describes 200m breast as 'like a chess game'. His sporting idol is MMA fighter Fedor EMELIANENKO (RUS), who won 27 consecutive bouts from 2000 to 2010. He always shaves himself the night before a race.
