Making OG debut. DNS at 2021 European Ch. Bronze at 2019 Junior WCh and Junior European Ch. In other events - bronze in 200m breaststroke at 2019 Junior European Ch. He is the son of Xavier MARCHAND, who swam for FRA at 2000 and 1996 OG and Celine BONNET, who swam for FRA at 1992 OG.
Silver at 2021 European Ch. In other events - bronze in the 200m IM at 2021 European Ch. Nicknamed Razzo - rocket in Italian. He first swam in a pool at just three months old. His sporting heroes are ITA Moto GP rider Valentino ROSSI and USA swimmer Ryan LOCHTE, who is a 12-time OG medallist.

In 2019, became the first NZL swimmer to win a medal in an IM event at the WCh when he claimed bronze in the 400m IM. Before a race he listens to music: 'I try and distract myself from thinking about how much pain I am going to be in during the 400m individual medley.'
