Caught Covid-19 less than three months before 2021 USA Olympic Trials. University of Virginia team-mates celebrated with her after she qualified. 'I was crying. I was in shock and it was special to enjoy this with them.'
Qualified 5th from heats. Finished 5th at 2019 NCh. In other events - 3rd in 400m individual medley and 800m freestyle at 2019 NCh. Her mother Jill HORSTEAD (CAN) competed at 1984 OG. Her older sister Brooke MCINTOSH (CAN) is a pairs figure skater and competed at the 2020 YOWG. Her motto is: 'Work the hardest and have the most fun.'

Performance in 2016 was best-ever at OG by USA female athlete (four gold, one silver). Her motto is: 'Keep working hard and follow your dreams.'

Golds in 200m free and 4x200m free relay at 2018 Asian Games. Both parents swam competitively at national level in China.

Began competing at age 10. 'I love the competitive side of swimming, being able to race teammates and friends for bragging rights or chocolate is always fun!'
Qualified 6th from heats. Finished 20th at 2018 European Ch. Gold at 2019 Junior European Ch, silver in 2018. In other events - gold in 100m free at 2019 Junior European Ch, gold in 200m free in 2019, 2018. In April 2020, she changed German clubs from SV Nikar Heidelberg to SC Magdeburg, in order to be closer to her family.
